Description

***VBN OPEN CALL***

The ARCC Veteran Business Network understands that not all Veterans are business owners and not all business owners are Veterans, so this June we are calling on all ARCC patriots to come out to our June 1st VBN meeting to learn about IVMF and how its staff of more than 100 professionals deliver class-leading programs in career, vocational and entrepreneurship education and training, providing service members, veterans and their families with the skills needed to be successful in education, work and life.

The VBN needs your help to reach all the veterans in our community, whether they work for you, live by you or are related to you, you can be the bridge that makes a difference. Our community and businesses thrive when we work together.

Join us for our ARCC Veterans Business Network Meeting with guest speaker Misty Stutsman Fox of the Institute of Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University to learn more about Veteran & Active-Duty entrepreneurial opportunities and training through IVMF programs.

***Veterans in attendance will have a chance to win a goody bag filled with GRUNT STYLE GEAR! ***

After our educational speaking segment, there will be an opportunity to network in the relaxed atmosphere of The Queensbury Hotel with our speakers, area Veteran business owners and Veteran employees of ARCC member businesses.

Meet our Speaker:

Misty Stutsman Fox - Director Entreprenuership & Small Business, Institute of Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), Syracuse University  - Ms. Misty Stutsman Fox is the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business portfolio at the Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). In this role she is charged with building the Center of Excellence for Veteran Entrepreneurship as well as the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business. In addition, she oversees a broad portfolio of nearly a dozen programs and projects that advances and promotes veteran entrepreneurship nationwide through research, resources, supply chain opportunities and tools as well as training and program development.

About the Veterans Business Network:
The purpose of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Veterans Business Network is to promote and to serve the affinity group of Veteran and military service personnel,  veteran and military member sole proprietorships, and veteran and military service professional members of the ARCC and to encourage increased business and collaboration among its ranks.

By promoting the ARCC’s four pillars of advocacy, education, connection and collaboration, we will have the ability to attract more veterans and military professionals to the ARCC with an intent to develop and track metrics that can be used by the ARCC to promote its support for veterans military service members in business, to support in collaboration the educational and mental health outreach and mission of other local veteran business communities, specifically, neighboring chambers, and to develop mentoring, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities for veterans and military service members while fostering growth opportunities with a focus on performance (revenue growth, employee growth, etc.) of service member-owned enterprises, military-owned sole proprietorships, and post-military professionals in the ARCC service area.

Interested in joining the VBN but are not an ARCC Member yet?
You're welcome to join us, meet some current members and learn how the ARCC works for businesses and Veterans in our region!
