Production/Yard Laborer

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Report all accidents and/or injuries immediately to Manager or Office
  • Quality control in manufacturing facilities
  • Preventative maintenance and routine repairs as assigned
  • Follow policies for plant operation
  • Assist with productions orders effectively and efficiently as assigned
  • Inventory control, ensure inventory is secured, stored and only accessible to the associates in accordance with company guidelines
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the facility
  • Cleans plant using shovel and broom, and performs other duties as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to an approximate weight of 50 pounds, although not limited to 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop and reach in order complete production and maintain a clean work area.
  • Ability to climb a ladder or “step up” to access overhead  areas
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours (short breaks provided throughout the shift)

  • Ability to understand instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to focus on results
  • Analytical skills and good judgment

  • Production quality is maintained
  • Tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communication with the Manager(s) is timely and accurate on all matters.

The Production/Yard Laborer will be evaluated according to the following criteria.

  • Cleanliness and attention to details
  • All safety standards are followed
  • Quality goals are achieved
  • Equipment is serviced and maintained properly
