Manufacturers/ Processors
Our story began in 1970, with a father and son, on a dairy farm in Fair Haven, VT. Robert Wood received a call from a local customer requesting bagged ice to sell in their establishment. Robert purchased a restaurant ice maker, and delivered 100 bags to the loyal customer. He received a phone call the next morning for more. Robert’s son, David Wood, continues the family legacy alongside his daughter, serving as the company’s Owner, President, and CEO.
The first manufacturing plant was located on Smith Street in Whitehall, NY, from 1970 until 1983, when the company purchased a 10 acre lot on Route 4 in Whitehall. Today, the facility manufactures over 3 million bags each year, delivering ice across regions of New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. The company has expanded to refrigerated trailer rentals, and ice blocks for carving sculptures, as well as connecting customers with a skilled local Ice Carver.
